Aboubacar "Lopez" Soumah is a master dancer from Guinea, West Africa. Lopez has toured and performed with Guinea's National Ballet Djoliba his entire adult life and is currently one of the ballets principal choreographers. His professional career spans nearly three decades and includes honors at the "Jeux de la Fracophone" in Paris, France (1994) and at the 1984 Summer Olympic Games Opening Ceremonies in Los Angeles. Lopez is certified with Guinea's "Director Nationale de la Culture" as a professional ambassador of Guinea's rich music, dance and culture. Since 1998, Lopez has instructed at the Fore-Fote School of Drum and Dance in Guinea and has become an acclaimed and sought after teacher of West African Dance for his easy-to-follow teaching style and brilliant choreography.
